This is a continuation of a previous support ticket (#24516) that was marked ‘resolved’ but actually still persists on iOS based mobile. Actually this itself was from a ticket on the WordPress plugin repository Support and it has been 1.5 years with no resolution.
I had tried it on the SeventhQueen Kleo theme previously and the problem seemed resolved. But when I moved back to the Aardvark theme (now using the Network Demo) the problem seems to persist on mobile.
When using the iPhoneXR, using the Aardvark Network Demo from Themeforest (one of the best BuddyPress GUI available, but a bit dated), clicking on the media icon opens up the dialogue box below, but when clicking on the ‘Select Files’ button, this does NOTHING, when in fact it should prompt the media file selector dialogue box from iOS.
Can you offer any suggestions as to why this is happening? (Aardvark uses WPBakery as the page builder)
Hi David,
it was marked as resolved because it was resolved. The issue does not persist in MediaPress. Please feel free to check our demo. Let me know if you are able to replicate it?
It is very much specific to the theme and I don’t have much idea what is wrong. Please contact theme author and let me know if they have some suggestion.
Regards
BrajeshI think I marked it resolved as this particular problem did not show up on the other theme (SeventhQueen Kleo). Though there were other niggly problems with using the Mediapress Plugin which the Kleo theme author and myself had worked out.
Later down the line, there were so many problems from other things in Kleo, I abandoned it and went back to Aardvark Theme. Remember I had asked this question about the Mediapress plugin on Aardvark theme not allowing the iOS device about 1.5 years ago, and I had asked the Aardvark theme maker to help, but they said to ask the Mediapress author, as they only supported rTmedia plugin. I spent a LOOOONG time waiting for a reply on the WordPress Plugins repository support and then realised you spent more time on this forum. You did reply to me on this forum but I ran out of the theme support and could not get back to them with your answer by the time you replied. You DID offer to help I remember but you said you needed an iOS device. And then another LOOONG wait.
I got fed up and went with KLEO theme but that itself was a waste of time. I understand now you sell support for you plugins so you don’t need to help me but it is just so sad I need to use rTmedia (looks nice but not as good software wise to Mediapress).C’est LaVie.

Hi David,
Thank you for the reply. No, we do not sell support for MediaPress currently. we support it for free.
The problem is if it is a common issue, I can help fix it. If it is very much specific to a theme, I need help from theme authors on what is causing it and what they need me to change.
To resolve our last issue(uploading on ios), I purchased an ipad a few months ago and made sure MediaPress works on it.
You may check our demo of Community Builder Theme where MediaPress is active. I have tested it again(I don’t own iphone, tested on ipad only).

BrajeshOK. Be it as it may, if I gave you admin credentials to a website, could you at least see (from the dev tools on the iPad browser) why the Aardvark Theme resists opening up Mediapress upload? Uploading for rTmedia is fine, activity plus plugin is fine.
As I mentioned before the Aardvark Theme author only supports rTMedia and did not want to bother finding out why Mediapress doesn’t work on iOS for the theme. I think he gets a cut from rTmedia sales so I cannot blame him.
Hi David,
Thank you for the reply.
I can check the issue but I can not do it via the dev tools. I believe the dev tools only work with mac not linux.
Please link me.

Brajesh
