    Hi Sam,

    Thank you. The plugin is available for update now.

    Even though I have no issues in supporting soundcloud, the problem lies in detecting media type.

    The oembed specification does not have an audio type. So, It is not feasible to detect the provide providing audio automatically.

    I can add a few filters in next release we can do it specifically for a few known sites like soundcould etc but there is not generic way to do it for the sites providing oembed audio support.

    Please do note that directly linking to audio file is allowed.

    Marking resolved as MediaPress 1.4.0 added support for Youtube as well as other oembed providers. It also added support for direct link to raw file.

    I have looked at the souncloud Oembed APi

    It seems the only way to detect would be to use the provider name as the returned type is “rich” which could be a link too.

    I will be providing a separate addon for this instead of adding to the core.

    The reason is we will be using provider name for marking media as audio type(which will be a non standard way).

    I will be putting the addon in next 7-15 days.
