@mentions don't work in forum

    Not sure if this is supposed to be posted here as it is also part of bbpress?

    The @mentions in the forum only work as a link, but the pop-up doesnt show to select a member.
    Also, after using @mention by manually typing the name, user does not get a notification. Not by mail nor by the notifications widget.

    Is that normal?

    Hi AJ,
    As far as I am aware, I don’t think mention notification is supported in bbPress forums out of the box. You will most probably need a plugin for that.

    There already exist 2 plugin for the same.

    You may use any of the two

    Thanks Brajesh, I use BBP toolkit which works fine but:

    no namebox popup
    no notification in widget

    Is that not possible?

    PS:

    In test forum I found that @mention works for email but not in widget

    BUT

    Admin got not in widget: https://cl.ly/d49edba3c4d7

    While “AJ” did not get note in widget.

    Hi AJ,
    From the looks of screenshot, It seems the plugin did not add BuddyPress Notification. Please report it in the plugin’s support forum and they will assist you.

    Hi Brajesh,

    I am not sure about not including it. It may be a rights thing. It all works for admin but not for users.
