    Hi,
    i am a newbie to buddypress working on my first buddypress website.i am using buddypress Version 2.5.1, wordpress version 4.4.2 with kleo theme.
    Really need help to move the general sub nav tab from settings to profile section. Tried a lot of methods after searching for the answer but came up short. I got the links to appear in the profile subnav but when save changes it return to the original settings page. Please assist me on this. Many Thanks!

    Hi Saran,

    Here is the the following code to implement your requirement you just need to put this code in your bp-custom.php file

    function buddydev_modify_user_profile_tab() {

        $bp = buddypress();

        bp_core_remove_subnav_item( $bp->settings->slug, 'general' );
        bp_core_new_nav_default(array('parent_slug'=>$bp->settings->slug, 'subnav_slug' => 'notifications', 'screen_function'=> 'bp_settings_screen_notification'));

        $user_url = bp_loggedin_user_domain();
    	// add 'Change profile picture' sub-menu tab
        bp_core_new_subnav_item( array(
                'name'		=> 'General',
                'slug'		=> 'general',
                'parent_url'	=> trailingslashit( $user_url . $bp->profile->slug ),
                'parent_slug'	=> $bp->profile->slug,
                'screen_function'	=> 'buddydev_screen_profile_general',
                'position'          => 30,
                'user_has_access'   => bp_is_my_profile()
            )
        );

    }
    add_action( 'bp_setup_nav', 'buddydev_modify_user_profile_tab', 100 );

    function buddydev_screen_profile_general() {

    add_action( 'bp_actions', 'buddydev_profile_general_save' );

    And also you need to modify “buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/single/profile.php” and place the following code after line no. 56

    case 'general' :

    		// Display XProfile
    		if (bp_is_my_profile() ) {
                        bp_get_template_part( 'members/single/settings/general' );

                    }
                    break;

    Thank You

    @ravi1987,
    Thank you for posting.

    @saran
    ,
    I will add my two points her

    1. Please do not modify this directly in the BuddyPres plugin, Instead copy
    buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/single/profile.php to yourtheme/ buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/single/profile.php and then modify it as Ravi has mentioned.

    Also, make a copy of buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/single/settings/general.php to your theme/buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/single/settings/general.php and make sure the form action is empty.

    I was testing it with Ravi, it seems he missed it while posting.

    Please do let us know if that works or not?

    Thank you
    Brajesh

    Hi Saran,

    Please use this code in your bp-custom.php file.

    function buddydev_profile_verify_email_change(){

    		return;

    		$pending_email = bp_get_user_meta( bp_displayed_user_id(), 'pending_email_change', true );

    		// Bail if the hash provided doesn't match the one saved in the database.
    		if ( urldecode( $_GET['verify_email_change'] ) !== $pending_email['hash'] ) {
    			return;
    		}

    		$email_changed = wp_update_user( array(

    			// Delete the pending email change key.
    			bp_delete_user_meta( bp_displayed_user_id(), 'pending_email_change' );

    			// Post a success message and redirect.
    			bp_core_add_message( __( 'You have successfully verified your new email address.', 'buddypress' ) );
    		} else {
    			// Unknown error.
    			bp_core_add_message( __( 'There was a problem verifying your new email address. Please try again.', 'buddypress' ), 'error' );
    		}

    		bp_core_redirect( $redirect_to );
    		die();

    	// Email change is being dismissed.
    	} elseif ( ! empty( $_GET['dismiss_email_change'] ) ) {
    	        bp_delete_user_meta( bp_displayed_user_id(), 'pending_email_change' );
