[Resolved] Problem to Setting Auto Friendship

    Hi guys,
    I installed the auto friendship plugin.
    I have created a new friendship list.

    And assigned this parameter:
    – If the members type equal to “partener”
    – List Type “add as a friends”

    But creating new users doesn’t seem to work.

    Also I tried to set them manually but still they are not seen as friends.

    Can I get support?

    Welcome to BuddyDev support forums.

    How are you registering and activating the user? Is it via BuddyPress registration page? If yes, How are you assigning member type on registration?

    Hi Brajesh Singh,
    these are the steps I did:
    – created the rule
    – created users manually
    – logged in with the created user

    but self-friendship doesn’t seem to work

    I also tried to manually enter members in the field but they don’t become friends

    Hi Emanuele,
    Thank you for the details and the screenshot.

    1. The plugin only adds members whom you specify in the members section of the list. Sice you have not specified any, It will not do so.

    2. In order to add friends, the list condition is checked with the newly registered user. If they match, all members form the list are added as friend.

    In case you are registering user from dashboard, member type won’t be set and I recommend using another condition. If the users registers from BuddyPress signup page, you can use all the conditions.

    Hi,
    unfortunately I am forced to register users from the wordpress dashboard.
    From there I assign the user type.

    How can I set them to become friends?

    Thank you for the reply.

    1. Are you comfortable with a few lines of custom code adding to a file?

    2. Do we restrict the changes to the first time a user’s member type is changed or do we add new friends each time their member type is changed

    3. Should we sync the friends to the member type? In this case, any existing friends will be removed.

    Please let me know and one of us will post the code.

    Ciao Brajesh,

    1. ok no problem
    2. Whenever a user is assigned the type he must become friends with everyone else
    3. Yes, because the friends function will only be restricted to a type of user that is not the one that needs to be synchronized automatically

    For other things we will work like this ..
    1. from the panel we create the user and assign the type
    2. we will make the user switch to activate it and complete some user card stuff
    3. this type of user must become friends with others of the same type (in this specific case “partner” or “affiliates”)
