profile fields visibility not changeable by user

    I have been using xprofile custom fields for the buddypress profile. The buddypress profile fields visibility for each field I have set to editable by the user. During registration and also in edit profile, even though I allow users to change the visibility of each field, changes in visibility is not happening even though it looks like it should be able to.

    For instance, if i set default to everyone and the user, during registration, tries to change the visibility to friends only or all members, it stays at the default. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi David,
    Are you using some plugin for enforcing visibility? I checked for custom profile fields as well as normal and it worked for me.

    Also, make sure you are not visiting user’s profile as site admin. The restrictions won’t apply when viewed from admin account.

    If it is still happening, try disabling plugins or changing theme and rechecking it.
