I posted this is in the buddypress (.) org support forums but no one was able to help so I thought I might post it here.

At the moment, when you log in to a buddypress account on the front end, the top right corner has the user’s name and avatar (display picture) and clicking on either of them takes you to the user’s profile.

I would like to deactivate this link so that it cannot be clicked on, then create a separate custom link that takes the user directly to their profile to edit it, which is what we the buddydev forum does – we hover over our names to show other links but our name and picture itself isn’t clickable.

Wondering if someone could tell me how to do this.

I can’t edit my previous post so I will add some detail here. I am using the BuddyX theme and will also ask the theme creators.

    Hi Stephanie,
    Thank you for your question.

It seems to be theme specific( I am assuming that you are not referring to the WordPress admin bar user link).

    Please contact theme developers.
