Share from within site to Buddypress

    Hi,

    I am building a site with buddypress whcih will also have articles, posts and a directory (geodirectory). Looking for a plugin/ solution to share articles, directory listings, and BP updates FROM WITHIN THE SITE to the Buddypress groups.

    I came across this thread, which mentions Buddydev has a solution so wanted to check.

    Thank you for the question. We don’t have any solution for it.

    I do recommend looking at imath’s implementation here

    I did look at bp-reshare ,but that only allows resharing WITHIN BUDDYPRESS.

    My site has Buddypress + WP + Directory (custom post types), and i require the other pages also to be shareable on the users’ BP activity (if logged in)- basically sharing the og as for facebook etc., but on BP.

    Do you think such a requirement will be easy to do a customisation, or will it be a big one?

    Thank you.
    As far as I understand, by other pages being shareable, you mean the other content should be embedded in activity item?

    This should work out of the box(or with minor enhancements except the share count).

    Yes, similar to a fb share button on a site page which shares the og content on fb activity- here i need that button to be on every non-GD page (or whereever its put as a widget/shortcode) and user can share that page on their BP activity by clicking the button on that page

    Please allow me a few days. I believe it should be easily doable(WordPress supports oembed out of the box).

    We might have to plan about keeping the share count though.
