Hi guys,
Since I have updated to WordPress 5.8 and I want to go to WP Dashboard -> Appearance-> Customize then it says the following with a blank page:
The theme “default” directory does not exist
and consequently I cannot access this board to make BP changes.
But on frontend the Theme works as usual, therefore it can’t be true that the theme “default” doesn’t exist anymore.
Did you experience such an issue as well or do you have a clue how I can troubleshoot?
Please let me know if you need admin access.
Thanks for your response.
Regards,
DanielHi Daniel,
You may use the following plugin to rollback WordPress update.https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-downgrade/
Also, for your issue, you may want to check the read permission for the parent theme/active theme.

BrajeshHi Daniel,
You can check the file permissions using an FTP client or your web hosts’s control panel(of they provide one).

BrajeshHi Brajesh,
Apologies for coming back late on this. I was very busy with work.
I still cannot access the Customize menu under WP Dashboard/Appearance.
I am on holiday this week and would like to fix the issue. Could you guide me where I can find the file permission in CPanel or could I give you the CPanel password to have a look?
Thank you for your feedback and Happy Holiday Season!
Regards,
DanielHi Daniel,

Please mail me the cpanel details and I will take care of it.Happy holidays to you too.

BrajeshHi Daniel,
Thank you for the reply. The credentials does not allow access to cpanel. It redirects to WordPress login.

Thank you
Brajesh
