    Hello,

I contacted a2hosting about this error, there couldn’t find anyting in the server that could cause it, so they suggested contacting you because I’m using BuddyBlog and it happenes when I click on “new post” in the front end using your plugin.

Here’s what actually happens. I go to my profile, click on “posts” in the tab menu and here is what the console says happens https://prnt.sc/llikd2 (no error message). Then I click on “new post” and this is what the console says https://prnt.sc/llilk5 .

Now, I don’t know if it’s linked or not, but when trying to upload images, like when I click on “set featured image” sometimes I get an error message saying that the image can’t be uploaded http://prntscr.com/llimqc . Then I try to upload the same image and it works (it’s an intermittent issue).

How can I solve this issue?

    Thanks in advance,

    Irina

    Hi Irina,
    Thank you for posting.

I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Is there anything special about the site like are you on WordPress 5.0 beta? Is there any chance that you are not using the tinymce editor?

Also, which theme it is? Is it some custom theme? Are they adding any visual posting section on their own?

About the upload:- If it only happens sometimes, It is most probably a hosting or some plugin throwing notice causing it. If it happens all the time, Please enable WP_DEBUG and let me know the error.

    Thank you
    Brajesh

    Hi Brajesh,

    1. I’m using wordpress 4.9.8

    2. How can I know if I’m using tinymce editor? As far as the plugin with that name, no.

    3. It’s Aardvark. They are using WpBakery, rtMedia and Responsive for Visual Composer. I deactivated rtmedia and installed MediaPress, the same thing was happening on both rtmedia and mediapress, so I guess it’s not that. I also installed Elementor Pro for dysplaying user posts on the home page.

    4. I have to ckeck if it’s still happening, it did happen all the time for a short period of time (like one-two days), now it’s kind of intermittent. Hosting support says it’s not them…

    5. I’m also using Youzer plugin and there are lots of css issues with Aardvark, but they are fixing them. However, they say that this issue is not caused by youzer. I’m wondering if there are any known issues between youzer and buddydev plugins (I’m using other plugins, not just buddyblog).

    Thanks in advance,

    Irina

    Hi Irina,
on 4.9.8 it is part of the core.

My guess is it is either Youzer or the theme. Try disabling Youzer and then checking it.

If that does not work and if the site is still in development, please try switching theme and checking again.

Let me know what you find there.

    Regards
    Brajesh

    Hi,

Thanks for your answer. I disabled Youzer and the tinymce error is still there. Unfortunatelly, my site is already live and running, so I don’t know if I can switch the theme without loosing everything that I’ve already done.

As for the upload, it seems that now it’s ok.

    All the best,

    Irina

Can you please remind me of something: Does BuddyBlog allow users to chage fonts (itallic, bold…), add hyperlinks etc? I kind of remember that when I first installed BuddyBlog it did have these features, then I installed youzer and there was only “add media”, no text editor. I deactivated youzer, and still no text editor, so now I don’t know if I imagined it or it was really there…

    Please try clearing browser cache.

Yes, BuddyBlog enables the tinyMCE that you see in the dashboard while editing post. In other words, It does allow changing text style etc.

I did that on both Safari and Chrome and still no text style editor. Do you have any idea why it’s happening?

    Hi Irina,
I am sorry but I have no idea of what could be causing conflict. I tested it again to be sure and it is working on 4.9.8/BuddyPress 3.2

We are using standard wp_editor() function for the richtext which should have worked

    https://github.com/sbrajesh/bp-simple-front-end-post/blob/master/form.php#L34

Can you please ask the theme developer to check if there is any issue between the plugin and the theme.

    Regards
    Brajesh

Unfortunetly I can’t, because my theme support has expired… 🙁

Btw, I figured I had Buddyblog 1.3.3 so i thought that by uninstalling it and installing 1.3.4 might solve the problem. Unfortunately, not only did it not solve the problem, now I don’t have the ‘set featured image” option either… Should I install the previous version or…?

*Enable Post Thumbnail? is set you yes
