Visible Gallery Only Private Groups

    How the MediaPress plugin should be configured so that any member of a group can see the photos.
    The gallery itself has the ‘Private’ status and the created group also has the same ‘Private’ status with an administrator who is the only one who can create and manage the group as the gallery and each member can only access to view the photos.
    I have tried it in different ways without success because when I close session or log in as another member outside the group the photos are also seen when they should only be private for the group.
    I need help as soon as possible.

    Welcome to BuddyDev.

    How are you accessing the photo? By direct linking to the file?

    The visibility only protects the listing, actual files are not protected and are accessible if someone knows the url of the file.

    Hi, thanks for the quick response.
    I had created a custom page and inserted a shortcode to view the photos on that same page. Is that why it does not protect privacy? How can I solve it or what are the alternatives?

    Hi Javier,
    Can you please share me the shortcode. If you are not using the “privacy” in the shortcode, It should only list public media to non logged users and public,members only media to the logged in members.

    To the siteadmin, It shows all media.

    Hi Brajesh,

    Previously I created a private group (grupo-javier) and a private photo gallery (directores).
    I just want to see the members of the group-javier and the gallery is viewed from a personalized page through a shortcode.

    [mpp-show-gallery id=1208 status=private component=groups component-id=grupo-javier]

    Can you attach screenshots here? To show the settings.

    Thank you.

    I had a look. It is a bug in MediaPress shortcodes. We are not passing accessible status to the shortcode causing it to display all media.

    Please allow me to push an update for MediaPress this weekend. I will write back after the update.
