Daniel on in reply to: Is switching Theme easy with BuddyPress and MediaPress #35017

    Hi Brajesh,

Thanks, I am preparing to install the new theme. Just I wanted to ask you if I will do a Demo import, then some files will get overwritten right? Would you recommend to do a Demo import? I am unsure since I have received this message from the Theme developer:

“Note: Demo import is always recommended for fresh installation only, it will wipe existing data and import at the database level.”

I would like to do a clean install of the Theme and I think a Demo import is better but my concerns are if this method will wipe out some BuddyPress or Mediapress Data? I wanna prevent that user data or any of Buddypress Data will be erased or overwritten?

But I also remember when I used my old Theme, and then the Theme did a new version which was called “Nouveau” then I also had to Install a brand new Theme and do the Demo import and it worked very well, so I guess a Demo import will not erase any of the important data and will do a clean install. What do you think?

Thank you for your time and assistance.

    Regards
    Daniel

Daniel on in reply to: MediaPress only enable Wall Photo Gallery #34859

    Hi again,

the same for Audio and Video, that only the Wall Video and Audio will be stored in Media Gallery and disable the user to create additional galleries.

I tried to do it in WP Dashboard/Settings/Members Gallery/Enable Media Gallery Types and I unticked all but then the TAB on front end: Create Gallery does not disappear

Could you please help me to make disappear the TAB on frontend: “Create Gallery” please?

    Thank you.

    Regards

    Hi Brajesh,

Yes I have used this CSS code for 1. to hide the “Activity” Text title on BP Activity, but I see now that it also affects other areas.

Might there is a CSS to make the Buddyblog Title appear again but still hiding the text “Activity” on BP activity?

    Thanks for your input.

    Regards

Daniel on in reply to: How to inform the users of new BP features? #33961

    Hi Brajesh,

I had a look today at several announcement plugins:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/announcer/
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/notices-duyurular/
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/bulletin-announcements/
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/popup-maker/
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/foobar-notifications-lite/
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-banner/

But none of them offers the functionality for BuddyPress. I think it will be awesome to have a plugin which offers a notification pop up to the BP user after he logs into his account and when he dismisses the notification that the notification will not show up again when logging in next time.

If you guys will plan to make such a plugin, that will be a nice to have and be terrific 🙂

    Thanks and regards
    Daniel
