Test Our Plugins with BuddyPress 1.5
As the shiny new release of BuddyPress is imminent, I have been updating/rewriting our plugins to make it compatible with the BuddyPress. Since this Release of BuddyPress treats the components a little different, It was a tedious job to update the plugin(as we have a lot of plugins here).
Today, I am publishing the list of updated plugins here. Also, we will use this page to keep track of all the plugins being updated.
Please Check this page for download links.
Where to Get The current trunk version of BuddyPress:-
Make sure you have the current trunk. You can get it from http://svn.buddypress.org/trunk/ using your subversion client . In case of Β unix linke operating system, you can checkout it like this.
1 | svn checkout http://svn.buddypress.org/trunk/ |
or you can download the zip archive from the bottom of this page http://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/trunk
Install and configure BuddyPress as normal.Β Once you are done with the BuddyPress, download the plugins from the above page.
After activating the plugins, make sure to create pages if it asks Β and assign it to the plugin on BuddyPress->Pages screens(Branded login and Stealth mode will need you to create pages).

Please report any issue you find. I will be updating the Compatibility page daily with the new updates. hoping to start putting the free plugins from today itself. Have a great time testing the plugins. Please do not forget to leave your feedback here π
No problem man – I'm going to try sandboxing this later this week and report back any issues.
Thank you Stig. I am looking forward to that. I will keep updating the plugin list with newer updates:)
I'm finally testing a BP 1.5 trunk install with these plugins, and a few more.
I can't post updates to the Activity Stream. They just don't appear to be saving. I can't friend anyone. I can't enter in a YT username or a Flickr NSID (though these plugins weren't advertised to work with BP 1.5, that portion shouldn't have broken that I can tell).
BP Gallery is working, as are Private Messages.
Any idea what might be broken? I can give you access to the site if need be.
Hi TJ,
Thanks for the info.
I will need to update flickr or you can find the instance of get_usemmeta there and add a third arguement as true(for single vvalue). I Have just update youtube feed plugin(please check your comment on that post).
As of friending/activity posting is concerned, It could be your theme or one of the plugins, try by enabling bp default. The current trunk of BP is working for me.
Hope that helps.
Thanks. I was able to get YT and Flickr working.
When I update my status, I then see a link under my status that says "Undefined" and it links to when I uploaded a BP Gallery. But my status update seems to disappear.
An example Add Friend link has a URL of:
http://nighthawksnation.org/members/enderandrew/friends/add-friend/138/?_wpnonce=f08394d8b3
That looks right. I click on it, and the Add Friend link then disappears, but nothing. And the friend request isn't sent. But if I paste that URL in my browser and hit enter, it does send a request. That probably is a theme issue.
Any more word on the chat? π
Hi,
sorry for putting chat in the sleeping mode. Will get to work on 1.5 version by 10th of this month. It needs special attention, that's why I have put it as my last update for Bp 1.5. Sorry about that.
Any chance we do see a version based on Jabber or something like that for those that have their own server?
my thoughts exactly to put an integrated version with xmpp(jabber) server and other with node.js
Why not a basic version for free, then offer the Jabber version as a premium plugin. Because 99% of us won't need/know how to configure the Jabber version.
For great inspiration for your Chat plugin, check out CometChat π
Hi,
Just to clarify, the bp-chat plugin will be free for ever. There may be a premium version later for node.js/jabber(but most probably, I will go with the free route for those too).
And yes, I have been looking at the currently available solutions and pondering to make the new updates faster and more reliable π
I just installed BP 1.5 Beta 3 on WMPU installation. I installed the BuddyPress Sitewide Activity Widget. No problems with install or Network Activate, however the widget does not show in Appearance > Widgets of the site.
Previously I was using this plugin on a standard WP installation running BuddyPress, so I'm not sure if upgrading to BuddyPress 1.5 caused it or using it on WPMU installation caused it.
Any ideas?
LOL…sorry it's late, WPMU π
Please download it from current trunk.

I have just updated and It will work perfectly with BuddyPress 1.5.
Let me know if there is any issue.
Thank you so much! It works beautifully!
you are most welcome π
Hey, Brajesh. Do you happen to plan on updating your BuddyPress Live Notification plugin for the new version of BuddyPress? I make great use of this on my website and on my test site, it doesn't seem to function correctly (there's no pop up).
Hi Roger,
sure, I will test and update it today.
Hi, Brajesh. Thank you for taking your time to update this great plugin. Unfortunately, it seems to be giving me the same issue as what I once had. The admin bar will receive notifications in real time, but still no pop up notifications. π I'm not sure if this is just an issue on my end or the plugin itself, but I've tried it on 2 instances of the trunk BuddyPress, both without any other plugins activated, and still no pop ups.
Hi Roger,
That is strange because I tested it and It showed correctly for me on 1.5 installs. Had you tested with default theme or some different theme?
Hi Brajesh !
Will Blog categories for groups also be on your update list ?
That would be great as it is an essential plugin on my website.
BP Gallery doesn't seem to work for me. I tested it on a blank WordPress 3.2.1, WordPress 3.2.1 Multisite, Buddypress beta3 and RC1, and 2 of the most recent BP Gallery versions. I'm just having blank screen on the front-end, every time I'm trying to get to BP Gallery. However, all the back-end part seems to work just fine, all the settings are accepted etc.
Hi Bart,
Please use version 1.0.9.2 and move "gallery" folder to your current theme. That will make it work.
Thank's – it did it. I guess I missed some instructions.
But there is another problem: I can't upload anything (photo, video) – it seems to work fine, but after the file is uploaded I'm redirected to Edit Media and it says "You have not uploaded anything yet, Upload Now. Upload".
Another thing, far less important: I'm going to use your Recent Visits plugin too – it would be nice if I could make translation of it without messing the core file. It looks like translation ready but there's no embedding of "mo" file in code.
Hi Bart,
1. To make upload work, please logout atleast once after activating the gallery plugin and login again. That will make it work. Please let me know in the forum if the issue is still there.
2.Seems like I missed putting the .po file which can be translated. You can use poedit to generate it for now or please wait for an hour and I will update the download package with a po file. Yes, The plugin is translatable.
1. That fixed the problem.
2. I'll wait – it's not a big deal.
Thank you for your quick replies π
Hi Bart,
Please download the version 1.1.1 and It will allow you to translate.

Thanks

Hi Brajesh,
Just upgraded to BP 1.5 and BP Gallery 1.0.9.2 and most things seem to work. Using the BP default theme, the Gallery menu item appears as a regular hyperlink rather than a boxed menu items like the others. Admin page prompted me to create a new wordpress Page to associate the Gallery component too so I did. Now I have a proper Gallery menu item, but I also have a Gallery link at the end of the menu.
Did I do something wrong?
Shaun
Hi Shaun,
You are right. We need to remove that extra link. You can disable that Link from gallery->setting for now. In next minor release(fixing a couple of small usability issue before the Gallery 1.1) will remove this option.
Thanks Brajesh. That worked.
