With BuddyPress User Profile tabs Creator, you can easily modify the availability or the visibility of the pre-existing tab
To make things simple, here is how we use the terms
- Availability:- It determines if the functionality(In our case BuddyPress tab or component) is available to the logged in user or not.
- Visibility:- It determines if the tab will be visible to the current visitor(logged or non logged in user).
With version 1.0.4 and above, you can modify the visibility and availability of any existing profile tab.
Example:– Let us make the ‘groups’ tab ‘friends’ only:-
Step 1:- Create a new Profile tab and set it as modifying an existing tab.
Note the slug. The slug determines what are we editing. In this case, we are editing user groups. We are not going to modify the label, so I am using that as a hint for you.
Step 2:- Set the settings as enabled and check that We are modifying an existing tab.
Step 3:- Modify the availability. You can make it available only for a subset of your users. In this case, I am leaving it enabled for all members.
Step 4:- Modifying the visibility of the tab. In this option, you can select who can see the tab. I am setting it friends only.
That’s all. We can now publish it and our group tab becomes friend only.
Note:- There may be times when you may not want to change the visibility of an existing tab. In that case, please select the “Do Not Modify” option as shown below.
Hope you are enjoying the BuddyPress tab manipulation.
