Attach BB Forums To Group Question – Forum Category

    Hello,

    how can I attach a forum with a cateroty at the top to a bdp group ?
    As far as I know buddyPress only allows forum only to be attched and not category.

    So far a pre-sale question here.
    Does the plugin solve this ?

    Hi Bruno,
    I am sorry, I haven’t tried this setup for the plugin.

    You can most probably do it without the plugin.

    Visit Group->Settings and see if the forum in question is an option. If not, Please visit Dashboard->Settings->Forums and select the root forum for BuddyPress there.

    Then all forums should appear for selection in the group settings.

    The point is that I have to do several private groups with each several associated forums. So it’s not a single root.

    For example a group of dentists with its members and its many forums on teeth, a group with doctors and their specific forums etc. There are also general forums accessible to all therapists.
    IF we summarize this would do

    Sitewide > Category general > Forum 1 / Forum2 …

    Buddy Group dentists > bbP Category dentists > Forum 1 / Forum2 …
    Buddy Group doctors > bbP Category doctors Forum 1 / Forum2 …

    The second solution works but you should be careful not to edit the group afterwards because it breaks the link between the group and the forum.

    Hi Bruno,
    I may be missing something here. Do you want a group to have multiple forums by associating the group to the parent/category forum?

    The plugin will not work for this scenario.
