[Resolved] BuddyPress Friends Suggestions Pro

    Hey there,

    we have purchased the “BuddyPress Friends Suggestions Pro” plugin and are amazed by the features and the detailed rules you can set. Great work and thank you for the plugin!!!

    There are 2 questions we have:

    1. So far no friend suggestions are displayed (even though there should be friend suggestions based on the rules set). Where exactly do users have to fill in the information to make it work? Which form? Where does the information have to be stored in wordpress? So far we have been using the “About” section of the Buddyboss profile with the Buddyboss Theme. How can we make this work?

    2. If we understand the plugin correctly, it is possible to display the friend suggestions mainly in sidebars (of profile, groups, pages etc.) and in the search function. Is it possible to embed and display the friend suggestions on one specific page with the help of a code. As we focus on mobile only, the sidebar will always be displayed at the bottom of the page and we would love to display it more flexibly also at the beginning of a page.

    Sorry for the delayed reply. We have added the support for friendship suggestions using shortcode. You can use plugin shortcode to list friends suggestions on any page. Please look at ”
    Showing the Friends/Follow suggestions using shortcode” section and do let me know if you need further help.

    Great, thank you for adding the information!
    Could you please create an example shortcode with all parameters, so we get the code syntax right?

    Regarding question No. 1 from above:

    So far no friend suggestions are displayed (even though there should be friend suggestions based on the rules set). We are entering the information which the rules should be using in the “About” section of the Buddyboss profile with the Buddyboss Theme. Is that correct?

    For shortcode, Please take a look at the following section “Showing the Friends/Follow suggestions using shortcode” on plugin page:

    Regarding Quest 1. Please make sure you have enabled rule status only then it will effect. Are you using widget for suggestions.

    If still facing the issue please share your demo admin credentials so that I can check.

    Hi Julia,
    Thank you for confirming that it works.

    Yes, the colours for button/link etc are inherited from theme. Please use custom css to override them.
