    Hi, is there a way to modify the group capabilities eg i want to allow Group Moderators to also invite, approve (for private group membership), and ban users, but not change group settings as admin can do. Is this easy to achieve?

    Hi Vivek,
    Thank you for the question.

    At the moment, BuddyPress does not have a proper capability system. Most of the things revolve around bp_moderate capability. There are a few others which won’t be of much use to us.

    Yes, it is doable and It can be easily accomplished as BuddyPress provides enough filters/actions for the same.

    If you can list specific restrictions you need to apply(or the things on which you want to apply restrictions), we can assist with it.

    Hi, following up on this, would like the group moderator to be:

    Able to:
    1. invite – for prv/hid grps
    2. approve – for prv grps
    3. block users

    Not be able to:
    1. delete group
    2. change group name/desc
    2. change group roles
    3. change type (public/ private/hidden)
    4. change group type (attribute using group types plugin)

    Would be great if you can help with this. thanks!

    Hello Vivek,

    We have created a new plugin for Moderator extended version. It will a new tab “Moderate” visible only for moderation. Under this tab user can see group members and Moderator can ban, unban, accept membership, reject membership request. We have not implement invite as it can be enable from manage section. Please download the following plugin and check if it fit for your requirement.
