    Hi Brajesh

    Sorry to trouble you again but as it’s been a couple of weeks, just wondering if there’s any update on when the groups functionality will be available?

    Oh and even if not quite ready but you need any testers, please do let me know.

    Hi Nik,
    I am sorry for the delay.

    We got it derailed due to our Pay per post adodn for BuddyBlog.

    Groups support for BuddyBlog addon will be available by 22-24th of this month.

    I am very sorry that I am unable to provide a beta currently as we are working on notifications etc but we may have a beta this weekend and I will get back to you.

    Thank you.
    It’s ready for beta. Our team will be away from our normal places on 23rd(we will be still looking after the forums). We will be back in the late evening 23rd and will release it around afternoon(EST) on 24th.

    Thank you so much for keeping me updated and that’s wonderful news. Would you be willing/able to let me have a beta version for testing as you suggested earlier? (I already have an environment set up where I’ve been testing other solutions which claim to handle groups functionality and I’m really hoping yours is going solve various issues I’ve come across with the others!)

    Hi again Brajesh… just realised that as I have not yet actually purchased BuddyBlog Pro (as I was waiting for the group functionality), it may be a problem for you to share the beta version. If that’s the case and I can help by making a purchase, just let me know and I will get that sorted immediately 😉

    Hi Nik,
    Thank you for the replies and the patience.

    I have been busy with the MediumEditor addon(pushed today to some members) and could not find time to review Ravi’s code.

    I have started reviewing and I see there are a lot of overlap and code duplicacy between BuddyBlog Groups and BuddyBlog Pro. I will need around 2 days to clean and put the release.

    Please allow me couple more days. I can provide you the plugin(BuddyBlog Groups today) but I may not guarantee that the posts that you would create with it today will work with the final version(some meta may change).

    Ah OK… I didn’t realise they were two separate plugins but that makes sense. If you wouldn’t mind sending me BuddyBlog Groups as it currently stands, that would be very much appreciated and at the very least I can start familiarising myself with things.

    Hi Nik,
    BuddyBlog Group is an addon for BuddyBlog Pro and will only work with BuddyBlog Pro enabled. It should be able to re-use most of the code.

    You will need access to BuddyBlog Pro to test/use it.

    In my personal view, if you can wait for 2 more days, It will give a lot more time to review it and put the best thing forward.

    Well OK… in that case, I will go ahead and purchase BuddyBlog Pro and start familiarising myself with *that* instead… and cross fingers that the BuddyBlog Group won’t be too far behind 😉
