Hey Brajesh,
Thanks for the feedback.
I’m looking at hosting people’s websites with multi sites. I’m going to utilize WPMUDEV’s Pro Sites to do this. I was told that the Pro Sites can’t work on a sub domain because it controls the creation/billing of the sub domains in the multi site. So, I’m trying to figure out a way to utilize the account.mydomain.com for all things “account” related on the network.
Ideally I would like to have a common profile (avatar, name, password etc) network wide as well as friends network wide. The site activity streams can remain individual. It wouldn’t make sense for me to be on a site about dogs and information about cats show up on my activity stream because I’m also on a site about cats. If that make sense.
I’m in the process currently of securing my wildcard ssl to secure the sub domains. Once that’s done I will start the process of enabling multi site and getting the site hierarchy set up.
Thanks for your help with this and the feedback. Much appreciated.
Hi Brajesh,
Thanks for the information. I’m not sure this will do what I’d like it to.
Ideally, I’d like my group owner/moderators to be able to add pages to their groups, which they can also add/delete from the navigation menu. It would be nice if they could do this like I can do with the visual composer feature to help them design their pages, and it would also allow the group pages to remain responsive.
Thanks Brajesh! I really appreciate it.
I was using it on my test site and was curious how a user could build a page layout without breaking the responsiveness of the site? Currently it seems they can only use the visual editor that comes with wordpress for writing articles. Is there a way for a user to be able to design an actual layout for a page with this plugin?
Ah, after some careful research, I found the culprit.
I had an .htaccess file that denied all access directly to .php files. Once I placed an override .htaccess in the specified folder, it is working perfectly!
Thanks to you Brajest and Ravi for creating this! This is exactly what my site was missing for user accounts.
Ah, I stand corrected. Apparently it ISN’T working properly. I did switch my site over to https in the last few months.
Hi Brajesh,
The site is using https. As far as I know the plugin is configured correctly.
I did notice that when one tries to log in via the register page or login page, the wp-login.php precedes the url. The url inside of the user settings is missing wp-login.php. I’m not sure if this is required or not for it to function properly.
Hi Brajesh,
Thanks so much! I tried this plugin and it installs correctly. I see the link/unlink buttons in the settings area of my test account profile. When I click on one of the social icons, it says it’s redirecting (which is normal for the social login) but then gives me a 403 error.
Hi Brajesh,
Yes the plugin does allow a user to link their existing account during the process. It’s just odd that it doesn’t allow the user to link/unlink their social accounts.
Hi Brajesh,
Thanks so much! This worked out perfectly.
