it turns out this problem only happens with existing wordpress users that did not sign up through buddypress/buddyboss in case anyone encounters a similar issue.
thank you ravi!

hi brajesh,
i’m not sure what is causing this, but i did some more testing & it doesn’t seem
to be related to profile tabs plugin or settings.everything is working fine on the site as far as functionality goes so this issue
is more a matter of preference so i’d still like to get it resolved.if you think of a way to resolve it & are available let me know even if it is a paid customization.
thanks!

hi brajesh,
all users should see aether.org when they login & logout.
this is achieved by the bp redirect plugin pages all being set to activity page for all user roles.
activity page is the home page of the site.
this has been working perfectly for the last 2 months since it was installed.
since we updated the visibility settings in profile tabs plugin to solve the previous issue in this ticket, now when paid members login they are in their profile area with the shop tab being active by default.
any idea why this would be?

hi brajesh,
changing the visibility to profile owner works great for solving the previous issue.
however, now when the user logs in, they go to their profile page with the shop (update page in my navigation) as the active tab.
i am using bp redirect plugin https://wbcomdesigns.com/downloads/buddypress-redirect/ which makes all users go to the homepage both on login & logout & it worked fine before setting the profile tabs visibility to profile owner.
any idea how to solve this?
i would like the users to still always go to the hompepage when they login & logout.
i did notice in bp redirect the one option they do not have is profile owner.

i think i found it, so only profile owner should be selected under tab visibility?

thanks brajesh, but i can’t seem to find this setting for profile owner.
where is it located?

hi brajesh,
i have it enabled for admin & also for anyone with a paid membership.
so why would the affiliate tab of admin or a paid member show up in the profile menu of
of other members? that’s what i am trying to figure out & solve.i’m trying to get this to work like the wc4bp plugin. the shop link shows up in the members personal profile navigation, but it doesn’t show up in other member’s profiles if i am just browsing them.

hi brajesh,
please let me know if i have something misconfigured here.
i’m noticing that when i am logged in as admin & i view other members profiles that the affiliates tab shows in their profile too & if i click it, it actually shows my affiliates area.
what do i need to do so that the only people who see affiliates links are the affiliates & the only place they see the affiliates link is within their own profile but not for other members?
thanks!
ps:
i did doublecheck to make sure this isn’t something that is appearing to me just as admin.
if i log in as user bobbyjoe i see his affilate link & area as it should be:
but then if bobbyjoe is logged in & views the member profile for anna, he also sees the affiliate link in her profile menu to his affilates account.
thanks!
