I have set “new user default role as author and in membership-anyone can register”. I dont understand why this is happening

I am not using any plugin but changed the option from publish_posts to manage_options in buddyblog settings for allowing blog post editting from front end

There is one option called “which capability can edit post in backend(wordpress dashboard) and its mention publish_posts” should i change it to anything else and to what. I want the user to allow editting on the frontend only not to visit dashboard
