One of the things I’ve been thinking about is to do with trying to get my media better organised in each gallery. I was thinking it would be a good idea to be able to assign categories to media, or tags so that people could search media in a large number of galleries for media with specific tags or categories.

My experience of giving galleries to members is that you end up with a large number of galleries through which the poor user has to troll as they look for interesting images etc.

I know its possible to create galleries for each type of image for example but to be honest I encourage my members to join a group that holds all the images in one gallery so that at least they have them all in one place. It is with this in mind that I’m thinking tags would be good.

Cool, I was wondering what that selector was about

Another feature you might like to consider is an upload from the web option, particularly for audio and video’s that the individual might have stored online somewhere and would now like to add them to MP.

Turned out I was using the wrong syntax in my php.ini file, which was accepted by WP but not Apache.

Problem solved, thanks a lot for your help

I’ll need to get onto my host provider to see how to restart apache then, I did not do that.

Yes I can confirm it’s not uploading files over 2Mb.

That’s got me confused though, since I made those changes and WordPress upload limit as displayed in Add Media changed from 2Mb to 200Mb

Also, just to add to the mystery, on my test site I have been merily uploading files that are 5Mb in size without a problem and without making those changes. I assumed that MP was overriding those settings in some way.

But anyway, thanks for fixing that particular issue, whatever you did.

Yes I set the upload_filesize and the max_post size to be 200Mb in php.ini, I’ll try uploading.

Actually I set the maximum upload file size to be 200Mb, when you click on Add Media that’s what displays, is there some other setting I need to change?

This is strange, it sounds like you got it to work. Let me take another look, you see when I clicked on the Add Files button, nothing happened. But I’ve just tried and now it works. Not sure what you have done but you have fixed that particular issue, thanks!

Any chance you could look at this please? It’s a live site and I don’t want to leave it with all of its features switched off for longer than needed. I’d really like to get MP working on the site, my plan is to have MP as the default for all my sites, really do not want to have to find an alternative for this site.

I did a lot of playing with it yesterday trying various different options but none of them worked unfortunately
