BuddyPress User Info Widget settings?

Hi Brajesh, I have been using the BuddyPress User Info Widget for a while now, but I have totally forgotten, where I designate which profile fields I want to have on the members page.

I have been searching around the dashboard, and read the plugin info, where it’s called a widget, but to me it is not a ‘normal’ widget you can drop in sidebars.

Where do I find the settings?

Hi there

I have installed BuddyPress User Info Widget, which immediately can substitute cards in the members directory.

1. Is it possible to add this widget as profile tab content with BuddyPress User Profile Tabs Creator Pro?

2. When I try to place this widget in a widget area to the main area, it’s placed the sidebar?

Buddypress User Info Widget – How to show visiting profile's user data

I have an urgent clarification regarding the buddypress user info plugin.

Currently it lists the entire users by the user role or it lists the fields of the logged in user.

Instead, would it be possible to show the visiting profile’s user data?

For example, while I have that widget on sidebar, I come to your profile, and it should show your xprofile data, not my logged in profile data or not a list of other user roles data.

Any help on this would be highly appreciated as this is kind of extremely urgent!

Love the BuddyPress User Info Widget – however I don’t see a widget in the apperance -> widgets of a sub blog in multi-site.
I am logged in as super admin, I go to a sub blog / which is setup as sub domain install eg : http:// welcome.adultsonlyspace.com /wp-admin/

then appearance, widgets.

I do not see a widget for this plugin listed – I have the standard widgets.. archives, categories, etc

setting somewhere to tell it that sub blogs can see / edit this widget?
the widget is “network activated”

help appreciated,

BuddyPress User Info Widget – Value of Checkbox and others

I have install the BuddyPress User Info Widget plugin. There is problem to pull the Values of checkbox, radio button and other field. I am seeing the correct Name correct profile image, correct heading for checkbox but instead of showing the value of checkbox it shows the text/string Array that means the word Array only.

Members page (ordered ‘Newest Registered ‘) displays Last Active info …why?

Hi guys,

just a question about the WP/BP members page.

On my site, the Members page shows the list sorted by “Last Active” by default. Each item includes info “active 1 minute ago” …”active 2 minutes ago”… etc. All as expected, all good.

If I change the filter to “Newest Registered” then the results are indeed displayed in that order, however the info next to each item is still the last-active time.

My question is …why?

If my users are looking at a Newest Registered list then obviously they expect to see “registered 1 day ago” …”registered 2 days ago” … etc.

Compare this to the Members widget, which does indeed display the correct info when the “Newest” filter is selected.

So I’m wondering if this Members page issue can be corrected? It seems pointlessly confusing and unhelpful in its current state.

I would appreciate any comments or advice.

Select multiple groups to join on user registration

I am wanting to have a functionality in the user registration where they can select which groups they want to join straight from the registration page. There is an emphasis groupS, the members that would be registering often are affiliated with multiple groups. All the members are of one type. I am also hoping the list they can select from can be linked with the groups that are already present on the site so I do not need to update the list all the time.

Currently I have a Multiselectbox default from the Profile Fields area of the User management with my groups listed in there and I really like the look it has with the website. I tried to use the Buddypress-registration-groups plugin but it does not look good, or function to a point I can work with. I am looking for something that is similar in function but looks like the multiselectbox from the default buddypress. I am not sure how I can do this, I have pretty much no programming skills and my budget is pretty much zero as it is me and a few friends and we are all tight on money.

Need to Limit Categories Users Can Post To in BuddyBlog

Hey Brajesh Singh,

First off, amazing plugin! I have tried many plugins for my BuddyPress website, and this is by far the most useful for what I’m trying to achieve. I appreciate the hard work and decided to buy a premium support membership to show it. It seems the premium support is down at the moment though, but hopefully this place will work just as well.

My install is such:

– No multi-site
– Using BuddyPress 2.3.2.1
– Not sure how specific this installation would be considered, but it’s not multi-network or multi-blog to my knowledge. Though I’m not an expert. I do have a few custom modifications however.
– WordPress 4.2.4
– Sweetdate child theme (http://themeforest.net/item/sweet-date-more-than-a-wordpress-dating-theme/4994573)
– Fresh install (running on a local DesktopServer environment currently)
– I’m currently running my website draft offline via DesktopServer
– I’ve posted Sysinfo at the bottom of this post to keep it cleaner.

My setup:

I am running a social network through BuddyPress. I have two blog pages in the main navigation menu, “Official Blog” and “User Blogs”. The Official Blog contains all post categories minus Uncategorized and the User Blogs category/sub-categories. The User Blog page contains all the User Blog category/sub-categories minus Uncategorized and the Official Blog categories/sub-categories. The user’s individual blogs are also viewable from the user’s BuddyPress profile. Users can only post through their BuddyPress profile page.

My current Categories look like this:

– Guest Writers
– Pick Up
– Dating & Relationships
– Fashion & Style
– Online Game
– Phone & Text Game
– Sex
– Self-Improvement
– Health

– Uncategorized

What I Need:

I need for all User blog posts to be automatically assigned to the parent category User Blogs, and not have it appear as an option on the blog post screen. I then want them to be able to select ONE category from sub-categories:

– Pick-Up
– Dating & Relationships
– Fashion & Style
– Field Reports
– Online Game
– Phone & Text Game
– Sex
– Self-Improvement
– Health
– Money
– Spirituality

So the blog post category would end up looking like “User Blogs, X” on the post page. I also need to restrict their access to posting to the Uncategorized and Official Blog categories (and their sub-categories), and don’t want them to even appear on the category list as options when creating a post.

I viewed your response to Sam here (https://buddydev.com/buddypress/buddyblog-update-and-bug-fixes/). It got me started with just the automatic posting to the User Blog category, but as you can see I need a little bit more. I have since removed the code provided and am back to the default settings.

I also love the drop down list format you gave to Rafael here (https://buddydev.com/buddypress/introducing-buddyblog-allow-users-to-blog-from-their-buddypress-profile/). The code overwrote the settings to Sam’s code, and I need to do a bit of CSS work to make it perfect, but ideally I’d like to see my above situation solved in the form of a drop down box.
