Hi Brajesh,
We’re using Gwangi, and the legacy template pack.
We’ve created a demo site where you can test it, which is similar to our actual set-up; hopefully this will be helpful. We’ll post the login details in a private reply.
As the admin, you’ll just need to try to reply to the suspended demo user (“Demo Subscriber”) in the existing message thread. You’ll notice that the sidebar reduces in size and is forced below the message area.
Thanks.

Thanks, Brajesh.
We appreciate how willing BuddyDev is to take on suggestions and how quickly they’re acted upon. 🙂
Regarding the formatting of the page being broken when a user tries to message a suspended user in an existing thread; we’re wondering if the removal of the reply text box in the existing message thread (since version 1.4.2) is causing the formatting to break? Can this be remedied?
Thanks.

Hi Brajesh,
Thanks for all of BuddyDev’s work on this and for getting back to us.
It does disable the send/receive message feature, however the notice displayed when trying to send a message to a suspended user from an existing message thread breaks the formatting of the page. We’re using the Gwangi theme (if that matters or helps at all) and the notice causes the side widget area to be forced below the message thread.
We’ve also noticed that suspended user’s profiles are still visible through either the direct URL to their profile, or through the link to their profile in an existing message thread. Is it possible for the suspended user’s profile to not be accessible to other users (similar to the Block User’s plugin feature)?
Thanks.

Hi Brajesh,
Sounds great; we’ll look forward to the update. 🙂
Will the restrictions you’ve added for messages mean that a user who has been blocked can’t send a message to the person who has blocked them? We realised today that this is currently possible if there’s an existing message thread between users, and one of them blocks the other (i.e. the blocked user can still reply to the user who blocked them).
Thanks.

No worries, Brajesh!
The new update works as expected, with suspended users being hidden from the member directory when the “Hide from directory and other user lists?” option is set to “Yes”. Thanks for adding this in. 🙂
When testing this, we also noticed that if a user is suspended, other users can reply to the suspended user in existing message threads. If they have the option turned on in their email settings, the suspended user will also get an email notifying them of the new message (although, if the “Block login of suspended user?” option is set to “Yes” they can’t login to reply).
Is it possible for users to not be able to reply in existing message threads to suspended users (which would also solve the issue of the suspended user getting an email)?
Thanks.

Hi Brajesh,
Just wondering if there’s any updates on this? 🙂
Thanks.

Hi Brajesh,
We think we may have made a slight error in our original post – this request is related to the BuddyPress Block Users plugin, rather than the BuddyPress Moderation Tools plugin.
Thank you. 🙂

Hi Brajesh,
Thanks for getting back to us and for the update. It works and we’re now able to translate the text.
