Hi Brajesh… just wondering if you’d had any chance to look into this at all?
With many thanks in advance.
Nik Hi Brajesh
Thank you so much for getting back to me so promptly.
1. I understand completely. I was initially thinking it was something BuddyCommerce should be able to handle but I realise that’s not the case. I’ve added my own BP nav tabs before, I’ll look into doing similar gain.
2. Thank you and no rush on my account. As mentioned, I very much doubt most people would want both activated at the same time anyway. It was only while I was testing how the two compared 😉
3. That makes sense and yes, it had occurred to me that would create a 3 level menu which doesn’t exist elsewhere…
As for the default sub nav slug well duh! I really should have realised that was its purpose!
Thank you again and regards

@keesjan… I think you might be better off starting your own topic re. your queries rather than adding to this one which relates to custom field type upload sizes 😉
Thank you so much Brajesh and that’s interesting. I might have a look at that version myself but you’re far more experienced in these things than I am (!) so I’m sure you’ll spot the issue more quickly (though I’m 99% sure it’s just the code that’s used to generate the link which isn’t quite working as it should).
I’ll look forward to any further thoughts you may have.
Warm regards

Just to add to this, in case anyone with a similar problem comes across it, this seems to be an issue only with more recent versions of bbPress as downgrading from 2.6.4 to 2.5.14 (an old version that I happened to have installed elsewhere) seems to resolve the issue.
I’m pretty sure it’s arising from the file located in bbpress/includes/extend/buddypress/notifications.php where there is a function called function bbp_format_buddypress_notifications() which creates a link (which when clicked, automatically marks that particular notification as “read”).
From the quick test I’ve just run, it would appear that the link/string created in more recent versions of bbPress may not be correct but I’ll need to do some more investigation to work out how/why.
Thank you so much Brajesh. I had always assumed this was the case but couldn’t find anything elsewhere to confirm or deny. As always, should have known I could rely on you/BuddyDev 😉
Warm regards

Thank you again Ravi.
I was thinking I would edit the forum template somehow to give an informative message, but in this case, actually I think you’re right… since the user won’t have clicked on a link and will already be trying to access the forum “illegally”, sending them straight to the list of forums they CAN access works fine 😉
Thank you again and really appreciate your help.

Hi Ravi
Thank you SO much… that works perfectly!
I note that if by any chance an excluded user knows the name of a forum and enters its url, they’ll get a blank page with the forum heading at the top which isn’t a major issue as hopefully it’s a fairly unlikely scenario, but might see if I can add some code to explain what’s happened eg. “You do not have permission to view this forum”.
Apart from that… this is great and really appreciate your prompt assistance.
Warm regards
Nik Thank you so much Brajesh. That’s really helpful to know and obviously, I’ll do a bit more testing myself but you’ve certainly saved me some time.
The only aspect I am not quite so sure about is that when a user selects an image to “edit”, there is an option that appears to allow them to set the privacy level for that particular image. From what you’re saying above, would I be right in thinking this doesn’t actually have any effect as the privacy level is dictated by the gallery to which it’s added?
Warm regards
Nik
