We are unable to stop recording this activity as it is hard coded in the BuddyPress group
https://github.com/buddypress/BuddyPress/blob/master/src/bp-groups/bp-groups-functions.php#L588
Since you are using our group activities notifier, we can help you with avoiding creating notifications for the user.

The plugin did not support cover.

@ravisharma has started working on it again today and we are hoping to have cover as well as bulk conversion for old media available in next few days.

I am sorry, The plugin does not support it.
You will need to modify the plugin to make it use dropdown.
