    Hi Vivek,
    Thank you for clarifying.

    I think a better way will be to mar fields available to certain member types and let users select their member type on registration.

    That way, BuddyPress will only list fields applicable to user’s member type.

    If you use this approach, you can use a basic profile field group and another with all the relevant details for both the user types.

    Thank you for the question. We can certainly do that.

    Question:- What will happen when a user clicks on “members” tab in group? should we remove the member tab completely there or hide the entries?

    Doing it per group will need me to add settings. For now, Let us keep it simple and we can add settings later.

    Thank you for the details.

    1. The custom code and the other settings don’t play together as you have a setting for each role.

    What you are seeing is the settings from custom code is taking over the settings you are entering in the dashboard. This is expected result.

    You are getting the impression that 0 is working but it is not the case. It is working due to this snip[pet

    
$allowed = array(
		'duration' => 0,
		'limit'    => - 1,
	);

    The default values from the custom code.

    2. Is there a chance you have set visibility/availability condition on message or it’s sub menu using profile tabs pro? That seems the only logical reason for 404.

    Please let me know and I will assist.

    PS:- Please update the default array with role in ‘buddydev_custom_get_role_based_message_limit()’ to apply your settings.

    The simple solution is to use the TOC available in BuddyPress 4.0+ and avoid using the profile field for Terms.

    If the TOC is not appearing for you, I will suggest updating your registration page.

    1. No, we don’t have repeater field group.
    2. How are you managing only one group visible to the user? As far as I see BuddyPress does not have this functionality built in.

    If you can help me understand point 2, I may be able to assist further.

    Do you have user registration moderation enabled? Something like this

    or any option in your theme to moderate user signup? It seems the issue due to that. Please check and let me know.
