Hi Lucas,
Welcome to BuddyDev and thank you for asking the question. You don’t need the above code, There is a simple and better way to do it. Please allow me to write a blog post and link it here.
Since this seems to be beneficial for many people, I am going to write a post with details and link here.
Will be linking in next 24 hours.Thank you
Brajesh Hi Chris,
Thank you. I see that and as per my previous message, I still found your registration page doing infinite redirect.to troubleshoot it, I will need ftp access(need to check the redirects flow). The old ftp details work but seem to be for some other site.
Regards

Hi Propertytips,
Thank you for sharing the details. It was a bug due to conflict with CMB2(we use this library) and Yoast(in very specific conditions).
https://github.com/CMB2/CMB2/issues/1197I will upgrade the included CMB2 library and post a release by tomorrow.
Thank you

Hi,
I am sorry for the delayed reply. You want something like this?
https://i.imgur.com/205C8YI.pngThis is called a Component in BuddyPress. I have plans to write some tutorial about it in future.
For now, You can use ‘bp_core_new_nav_item’ instead of the subnav.
Also, I suggest either not using
$user_data = get_user_by( 'id', bp_loggedin_user_id() )->data;or at least putting a check for logged in user. Another change is you don’t need to pass parent_slug for top level nav items.

Hi Nikki,
Sorry for the delayed reply. The activity type to look for is
mpp_media_uploadand you should hook to
bp_activity_after_saveThis action gives you access to activity object.
Please do note that make sure to test against the $activity->user_id and logged in user id. You do not want to notify the user on their own upload etc.
Another thing to consider your attached function will succeed on:-
– Any gallery activity(new media added to gallery and posted in activity stream)
– New media uploaded from activity stream
– New post on a media in light box
– New post on a gallery on single gallery page
– New post on a media on single media pageFor replies, the correct approach is to check for the parent activity(top level)’s type and see if it is
mpp_media_uploadLike I have said earlier, In my quest to maximize the usage of inbuilt BP features, I believe using activity for comment was a mistake and I will be correcting it in the next major milestone and re-implement the whole commenting.
