There are multiple ways to do it.
1. You can add lightbox=1 to the shortcode and it will do the rest automatically.
2. We have a full featured API for displaying lightbox. Please see it.

Please upgrade to 1.1.0
After the upgrade, Please visit MediaPress->settings->Theming and you will see the new option to allow lightbox inside the gallery on clicking of photo.

That code is very old(7 years), and I suggest avoiding that.
2. I am not sure if BuddyPress currently allows that(showing from all groups),Earlier it was allowed.

I am sorry but I am a little bit confused here.
I see the issue of pagination links(incorrect links) on Nitin’s site. When I test it locally, The links are pointing correctly. I will be pushing an update today and just to see if we all have same version.
