But I can only find a place for reset password, where do I set forgot password? maybe it is in my theme?

Hi Brajesh,
Thanks 🙂 I have only let a few VIP Members in at the moment but they are enjoying it. The free members will be invited after we have tested things more.
Well, unfortunately, many plugins want to give me nice login (and registration etc) pages and so does my theme, but I only want one!
I’ll post a private reply.
Cheers,

Hi Brajesh,
Thank you for your kind attenton, your support amazes me.
Simplifying the terminology of my site slightly; Let’s say a User buys an upgrade, the Membership plugin assigns a proper WordPress Role, call it VIP_Role. Maybe all membership plugins do it that way, I didn’t understand it at first because my old system doesn’t do it like that.
Therefore, it will be better for my site if I don’t associate any Roles with Member Types because it could accidentally alter a paid membership.
Anyway, I’m happy that you know what you’re doing. You teach me a lot and I can help a little sometimes 🙂
Best wishes,

I realised that:
A – We can assign Member Types from the backend User editor. That’s great. It assigns the Roles.
B – A User can’t have more than one Member Type, so my second question is not relevant.
Is it correct that a User can only have one Member Type? I think it makes a few adjustments to my strategy but that’s fine I can use xprofile fields or taxonomies for what I need.
I researched a few and I’m trialling Super Socializer (free). It is excellent so far, very comprehensive and states that it is Buddypress and Multisite compatible. Also: “Sync social profile data with BuddyPress XProfile fields”.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/super-socializer/
I have spotted a minor issue and informed the developer. We can’t “Delete Social Profile” from within Buddypress (it needs access to the WordPress dashboard at present). Let’s see if they respond well.
It is working really well on my site, it pulls in the Member’s avatar from their social profile. Additionally, it enables my existing Members (that I imported using csv files) to simply log in without concerning about their passwords being new in this new website.
Initially I had a site crash. Not when I first installed but when I saved the setting for Social Login. I didn’t know how to get back in my site other than renaming the plugin’s folder using ftp. I then enabled debugging and re-enabled the plugin. The issue was that my Membership plugin also has social commenting so there was a conflict, namely:
Fatal error: Cannot declare class TwitterOAuth, because the name is already in use in (name of membership plugin’s file).
Thankfully, I can disable this aspect of my membership plugin. I have let the developer know in case they want to work around that. It may not be possible to always disable other plugins that require TwitterOAuth.
All looking great. Next, I want to implement your Ajax Registration and see if it will integrate well.
I’ll keep reporting on this plugin in this thread.
Edited to add: Admin can also delete the User’s Social Profile (ie removing their social login) from the backend User editor.

I’m also not able to reassign them with the Participant Role using the dropdown “Change Forum Role to…” I don’t know if that is connected with your plugins or not.
Cheers.

I think there is a related bug in Member Types Pro.
Participant (for example) is not in the list of Associated Roles when we edit Member Type.
I gave two Roles to a Member Type. I then assigned the Member Type to a User in the back end (Change Member Type to…).
That removed the User from being a Participant.
Hope that helps,
Mike Hi Brajesh,
Please inspect the Community Member badge at the below address:
https://technicskeyboard.com/members/michael/
<img src="https://technicskeyboard.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/badge-newmember.png" width="30" height="30" alt="Community Members" class="jetpack-lazy-image jetpack-lazy-image--handled" data-lazy-loaded="1">
You’ll see that it has a height and width of 30px. Maybe this is because the original image I uploaded was 30px? I’m not sure. I can’t remember the size I originally loaded. I later replaced the first image with a 64px image.
I have then re-set the height and width in css to 64px using the css you kindly gave me above. But I would like to know where the 30px is coming from because it doesn’t work well with Jetpack image loading.
Many thanks,
MikePS I’m not asking you to do the research for me, I just wonder if you know a good one that is compatible with your plugins. If not I will trial some 🙂
