I will suggest looking at BuddyPress registration options.
Also, to change that text, you can modify buddypress/members/register.php in your theme(If your parent theme does not contain it, you can copy it form buddypress template packs).

Thank you for the details.
The page does not seem to be created by MediaPress. We create only 1 page(Gallery directory).
Please visit Settings->BuddyPress->Pages and see if a page is assigned to “Gallery”. This page is our directory.
MediaPress does not use any other page.
The shortcode did not work for you as the default status for shortcode is ‘public’. You may add status=’public,loggedin’ to list all galleries with logged in status as well as include any public gallery.

Are you seeing the same behaviour without using shortcode? The shotrcode should respect the activity visibility.
It seems to me either the activities are visible for the roles or somehow they were not marked as private.
