    Thank you for sharing the details.

    It was a bug due to conflict with CMB2(we use this library) and Yoast(in very specific conditions).

    I will upgrade the included CMB2 library and post a release by tomorrow.

    This is called a Component in BuddyPress. I have plans to write some tutorial about it in future.

    For now, You can use ‘bp_core_new_nav_item’ instead of the subnav.

    Also, I suggest either not using

    
$user_data = get_user_by( 'id', bp_loggedin_user_id() )->data;

    or at least putting a check for logged in user. Another change is you don’t need to pass parent_slug for top level nav items.

    Sorry for the delayed reply.

    The activity type to look for is

    mpp_media_upload

    and you should hook to

    
bp_activity_after_save

    This action gives you access to activity object.

    Please do note that make sure to test against the $activity->user_id and logged in user id. You do not want to notify the user on their own upload etc.

    Another thing to consider your attached function will succeed on:-
    – Any gallery activity(new media added to gallery and posted in activity stream)
    – New media uploaded from activity stream
    – New post on a media in light box
    – New post on a gallery on single gallery page
    – New post on a media on single media page

    For replies, the correct approach is to check for the parent activity(top level)’s type and see if it is mpp_media_upload

    Like I have said earlier, In my quest to maximize the usage of inbuilt BP features, I believe using activity for comment was a mistake and I will be correcting it in the next major milestone and re-implement the whole commenting.

    For the registration vs edit, I have found a great solution and I will need some time to implement it.
    There are two options for now

    1. Using Conditional profile field + BP Member Type Pro and disable conditional profile field on edit screen. In this case, We will need to mark all fields as their member type and use conditions as we do.

    2. Implement registration conditions in Member Types plugin. There will be no need to set any condition or use the conditional plugin. You will mark a field available as you do currently(to certain member types). The plugin will take care of the rest.

    Both this approach will have some issues with popup registrations forms but will work great for normal BuddyPress.

    For the second approach I am going to need some time. I can share quick snippets for the first approach though.

    Please let me know if you want to go with the first approach for now.

    It is not a conflict between Group Tabs creator and Yoast Seo, It is most probably a conflict between Group tabs creator and some other plugin which is causing the trouble.

    If you can provide more details about your WordPress version(is multisite etc). That will help.

    Hi,
    You can achieve that with simple css and a custom loop. I am not sure if there exists any shortcode for it but a custom members loop an easily achieve it.

    You can see the example of members loop in buddypress/members/members-loop.php in your theme(or bp template pack).

    Welcome to BuddyDev.
    My apologies for the delayed reply.

    Is it about Blog categories for groups plugin? We do not support any privacy as normal blog posts are publicly visible.

    If we want to achieve the privacy in future, the first thing will be to mark a post type non public. Since we are not registering the post type, It is upto the site admins to manage it.

    We do hope that if we did register a post type in future, we will allow selecting custom visibility.
