Brajesh Singh on in reply to: [Resolved] Cannot mark users as Featured #20201

    Hi George,
    Welcome to BuddyDev.

We haven’t added the featured option in the WordPress admin.

The button should be visible from user’s BuddyPress profile as well. Can you please check that?

    Thank you
    Brajesh

    Hi Tosin,
Since the plugin involved are not related to us, I will suggest contacting the front end plugin’s team for the assistance.

    Hi AJ,
Thank you for using the plugin.

Can you please post to your group from another user account and then check your activity stream.

The goal of the plugin is to aggregate all activities from user’s own group, friends etc in a single stream. For that to be visible, we need to have activities from other people.

    Please give it a try.

    Regards
    Brajesh

    Hi AJ,
AS a user you can hide the last activity time from settings.

It is possible that a user will still be visible when their last activity time is hidden.

    Here is how it works.
    1. As soon as a user disables last activity time, we stop recording it. We do not delete their already recorded time. If we delete already recorded time, user won’t be visible in directory(BuddyPress treats as inactive).

This means, if there are only few users, even when we stop recording, the user will be visible. If you get more users and the number of users who login to the site after the hiding of the last activity is greater than your allowed limit in widget, The user will become invisible.

In other words, the user become invisible in the recent list gradually as other users’s login. This is to make sure that they are not marked inactive.

    Hope this clarifies.

    Regards
    Brajesh

    Hi Propertytips ,
    Thank you.

I am glad it is all resolved now.

About the count, It is intentional. Not all tabs need count. We can add tabs without count.

For Blog Category the decision was based on performance optimization. To add count we had two option
    1. Count the posts each time any of the group screen is loaded. Counting based on meta keys for a larger site is not a great idea. We assume that communities means larger no. of posts quickly.

    2. Or we can keep the count in cache(transient or meta). This is better but keeping a sync and avoiding confusion is important. We left it as future enhancement.

    Thank you
    Brajesh
