    Thank you for the questions.

    1.We will be releasing it around 4-8 weeks after the MediaPress 1.5 . Considering that 1.5 is scheduled for 15th November, It will be around the end of the year.

    2. Yes, technically, it is not very different(just a few small change).

    3. It will do that for any new like on activity but may not for preexisting likes(Say when you activated it, a media already had 3 likes ). We are still working out our plans for older media which have likes. We may go for sync.

    4. Yes.

    The reason we are not doing it currently is efficiency in filtering the top/most liked lists with media visibility/component/type. Filtering with Visibility, component and type is not very efficient. If you don’t care about these filters, you can still implement an efficient solution.

    We are changing schema for visibility, type, component in 1.5 and after that, It should be a simple join.

    Thank you for the reply.

    I am sorry but MediaPress will not work in multiblog mode on sub sites. It will work for only one site. Each site can have their own instance of MediaPress. There is no network wide gallery feasible yet.

    It is something we decided on purpose to avoid complexities. I will suggest either using BP Multi Network(if that suits your use case) or keep it global.

    1. Yes.
    2. Yes and no both. Since the global user’s don’t get a role on all sites, you can restrict users from accessing sub sites.

    3. There does not exist any option for now. We do have a BuddyPress Multi Network plugin but that might be an overkill.

    4. The Multi Network plugin can do it but in that case, even the activity stream, friendship requests, messages will become site specific and not global.

    Another solution is to not think about registration but users aopssictade(has a role on a sub site).

    We can simply network activate BuddyPress and on Member Directory filter the lists to show users having a role on current site. You won’t need BuddyPress Multi Network plugin in this case.

    Thank you for the suggestion.

    I am certainly going to improve the error message for the link.

    Changing placeholder needs more thoughts.

    Currently, we support two types of link:-

    1. Direct link to a file(http://example.com/file.jpg etc)
    2. Oembed link.

    If we go by the above suggestion, It won’t be clear to the user that a url from youtube etc is supported.

    Please do let me know if you have further suggestions.
