Here is the updated join blog widget plugin that allows showing the signup link for visitors.

You may want to delete the widget from widget are and add it again(It will automatically pick the signup url in that case).

It is working with current BuddyPress/WordPress
You don’t need to put *.spammer.com, using spammer.com will stop all emails from the spammer.com
About the Ip, There are so many plugins available to do that, that’s why we don’t plan to have it here.
You may look at wp.org for the ip banning plugins.
