Thank you for reporting the issue.
is there any chance your theme is returning a default cover when no cover upload is done? We are falling back to this function
bp_attachments_get_user_has_cover_imagefor checking if user has uploaded the cover(in case our meta is not set).If a theme returns default cover, this may not work as expected.

Thank you for the question.BuddyCommerece brings WooCommerce account functionality to BuddyPress It does not allow buy/sell of the articles.
We are releasing an addon for BuddyBlog pro which will allow purchasing of the articles.

1. Have you enabled the conditional registration from “Dashboard->settings->Member Types->Miscellaneous” tab
2. If Yes, Is there any chance that you are using Youzer/youzify?
