Thank you.Please visit Dashboard->MediaPress->Settings->Members Gallery and make sure to re-enable the Types.
When you turn off a type globallay, it gets turned off for each component. If you re-enable it in gallery setting, It won’t be enabled for all components automatically. You will need to visit the tabs and re-enable it.
That was causing it.

1. The plugin is not configured properly. Most probably you haven’t enabled the type for the user component.

Thank you for the question.I am not aware of any such shortcode for BuddyPress.
You will be better off with including members-loop.php from buddypress/members directory.
