I am sorry for the inconvenience.It seems you are using BuddyBoss theme and platform. I tried with BuddyBoss platform 1.4.9/BuddyBoss theme 1.5.6, WordPress 5.5 and the plugin is allowing me editing corerctly.
1. Is there any chance you are trying to edit an activity containing media? We only allow editing textual updates.
2. If not, Please provide me a guest access to check the site and plugin ina ction.

Please use the member type field
https://buddydev.com/docs/buddypress-member-types-pro/creating-buddypress-member-type-profile-fields/When a user updates their profile, It will automatically sync to member type.

I am sorry but these are not MediaPress issues. Please try it on a default theme with MediaPress and BuddyPress.It seems some plugin or theme is taking over the tap/click. The pagination are normal links and will work fine in normal circumstances.

.buddyboss-theme a.button.bpmts-report-button::before { content: "\e80e"; }That should do it.
