Thank you for using MediaPress.There is no way to generate thumbnail from videos without using a transcoder. By default, we can not do that using php, so we use a blank cover.
If you want to generate the thumbnail and if using a VPS/Dedicated server, Please use the MediaPress Local Transcoder addon

Thank you.There was not much change in this release. A minor fix for group pagination. Other than that, we did a lot of testing with WordPress 5.5 as we were expecting jQuery might cause issues.

You can add widgets from Apparance->Wisgets and add as much content there as you need.

Sorry about this. Just found out that it is a confirmed bug in BuddyPress 6.2 too

This is related to WordPress 5.5 and BuddyOress. Are you using latest version of BuddyPress(6.2) ?WordPress 5.5 has updated PHpMailer library and that will cause this issue with older version of BuddyPress.
As far as I am aware, this is fixed in 6.2
