@fslci Please disregard my last. I figured out the issue.

Brajesh – I have implemented Phillip’s suggestion and it does work to the extent of auto assigning a Member Type when a user purchases a new Memberpress membership.

In case other BuddyDev users are interested, here are the steps for the workaround:

    – Install and activate the Memberpress User Roles add on.
    – Create new WordPress user roles using a plugin like Capability Manager Enhanced or User Role Editor. Or just get into the code and add new roles there.
    – Go back to Memberpress > Memberships for the membership you would like to have a Member Type auto assigned for. Then click Advanced and click the box for User Roles for this Membership. Then select whatever user role you would like to assign to that membership.
    – Then go to Settings > Member Types and find the new user role you “connected” to the Memberpress membership above. Select what Member Type (assuming you have already set up your member types) and then “Save Changes” and you are all set.

The workaround seems to work fine for auto assigning new users with a specific Memberpress membership type to a specific Member Type. Phillip is correct that this will not solve the cancellation of a Member Type upon cancellation/expiration of the Memberpress membership.

Brajesh – I sincerely appreciate all of your help and support as we tested this integration of Member Type Generator with Memberpress. As I mentioned to you before, the integration seems to work fine for Memberpress memberships that are not recurring memberships and/or don’t have a trial period – only works for memberships that are one time only payments.

All the best to both you and Phillip…

@fslci Is there a way I can contact you outside of this forum? I tried your suggestion of using the Memberpress User Roles add-on with Member Types Pro but I can’t get it to work. The Memberpress User Roles add-on is assigning the correct user role to a new user but the Member Type Pro is not assigning the correct member type.

Please let me know if I can email you. If you prefer to email me, please write me at 3515atownhouse @ gmail.com.

    Many thanks!

Phillip – I agree. I am very disappointed with this turn of events.

Brajesh – as I have mentioned to you over email, I am a member of a group of about a dozen webmasters that exclusively use Memberpress for their membership software. I volunteered to test your Member Types Pro plugin and report back to them with my thoughts.

As Phillip mentioned above, I think there are many Memberpress users that would be keen to use your Member Types plugin. From the people that I have spoken with, they had no clue that Member Types might be able to integrate with Memberpress and were very excited to hear that you were going to add the integration.

Frankly, I believe the customer demand is there. You just aren’t seeing it as no one has any idea that Member Types MIGHT be able to integrate with Memberpress.

Phillip – thanks for the tip. I will give that a try.

That’s very disappointing to hear as you stated on October 8th (a month ago) that you would be working on this and providing an update after October 29th.

Can you recommend any other plugins or developers that offer something similar?

@fslci Curious if you are having the same problems we are. We offer a variety of different recurring memberships on our site (monthly, annual, etc.). We also offer “one month” only memberships where there is no recurring membership (set up as just a one time payment instead of a membership in Memberpress).

After spending several hours examining and testing, we have found two critical problems:

    1) For the actual recurring memberships (monthly and annual), the Member Type Pro plugin does not set the correct member type. We’ve followed the instructions on how to trigger Member Type Pro to set the member type within each Memberpress “membership” but never works. Member Type Pro DOES set the correct member type for our “one month” only memberships each and every time one is purchased – again, just a one time payment instead of a recurring membership/payment.

    2) More concerning, we’re discovering that even when we manually set the member type for our recurring memberships, Member Type Pro “forgets” the member type after a few hours to a day.

    Similar to your problems?

    @sbrajesh
appreciate all of your previous help and hope that you can look into this at your earliest.

@fslci I have been struggling with the same problem for the last couple of weeks. Would you mind sharing what you changed with the Memberpress configuration to rectify this problem? Many thanks in advance!
