    Thank you for reporting.
    This seems like a bug in BuddyPress.

    I tested with

    
define( 'BP_FRIENDS_SLUG', 'alpha' );
define( 'BP_DEFAULT_COMPONENT', 'alpha' );

    and I got the same result. Changing the name does not work as expected.

    I can certainly look into it but I will need some time before I can. In the meantime, you may want to report it on BuddyPress trac.

    Welcome to BuddyDev.

    1. You can disable the html by Disabling “Auto link” on the profile field edit page
    2. For custom, Please use

    
$values = maybe_unserialize( BP_XProfile_ProfileData::get_value_byid( $field_id, $user_id ) );

    And modify it as you please.

    For now, Please use the change from the github.

    My plan is to release next version with a bit better lightbox(already implemented, needs minor tweak) and remote only media upload in addition to a few other improvements.

    Due to prior commitments I haven’t been able to spend much time on MediaPress. Hoping to add these features by the 2nd week of June and then push a release.
