Hi Andres,
You have the BuddyPress Profile Component disabled.Please visit dashboard->Settings->BuddyPress->Component and enable it.
That will make it work.

I am sorry, your task will need custom development and we offer limited code support here.I can give you some pointers though. You can use xprofile_query to filter user’s by their choice of field.

I am very sorry about this. The new field type API had a last minute change which caused issue in the admin saving of settings.I have pushed 1.0.9 with a fix. Please upgrade.
