I apologise for the inconvenience.Please upgrade to 1.0.5, It will fix the Part 1(listing for friends/ followers etc)
Part 2 is related to the member type control by your membership plugin. It seems they are not resetting to new member type but appending that.
Our badges for member types are calculated dynamically and it only represents current state of the user.
If 2 badges is showing, It means the user has 2 member types.
Which membership plugin you are using? Do they have an option to change member type instead of appending? Please check it with them.

Welcome to BuddyDev.Do you mean the list of users in dashboar? I checked on members directory and I do not see the users?
Please let me know if you mean hiding it somewhere else.
PS:- To apply settings, a user must save their account settings with their selected preference. default preference only applies to new registrations.

Thank you.
I have looked into it. It will need some update from BuddyBoss.The button click is handled by the theme and we are returning a json response with error message.
The theme handles it pretty well on the members directory but on the profile page it ignores the response if the success is false.
Please contact their support and request them to show error in case of a error response on button clicks. That will solve it.
