Hello,

I need to some informations about “Featured members”, specifically I want know if it’s possible create a premium pack for assign to the users more visibility on the site.

It should work like this:

A member pay the featured pack –> Automatically, this member appears in the page through a widget.

I think even an integration with woocommerce would be fine.

Is there an add-on or a different plugin what I can use for this purpose?

Hi Brajesh,

There appears to be two separate problems, which may or not be related.

Your updated version does hide the user from the Member’s directory. I can’t actually remember whether the previous version did or not.

The issue that is causing me concern is the original one that I raised. Maybe I didn’t explain it very well.

When I hide the user, they still appear in the widgets.

They show if “online now”, “visited recently” and under “members” (newest, active, popular).

Admittedly that doesn’t reveal any profile information, but they still appear, despite choosing to be hidden.

I can’t see any options in the widgets themselves, or in the plugin settings in the admin panel.

I hope this makes sense. If it is not possible to filter what the widgets display, please let me know. I may be asking for something that cannot be done.

I have a dilemma. Actually I have several, but that’s besides the point!

I have Simple BuddyPress Profile Privacy by Justin Hansen installed, and it works perfectly.

But I have also installed your BuddyPress Recent Profile Visitors plugin, which also works perfectly.

The problem is, hiding a member’s profile from the directory, does not hide it from the visitors widgets. Because the two plugins don’t talk to each other, yours is defeating the purpose of Justin’s.

Not knowing much about programming, I got the database entries for Justin’s plugin that flag the directory hiding:

user_id: 3
meta_key: bpp_hide_directory
meta_value: Yes

So user “3” has set “bpp_hide_directory” set to “Yes”. The ideal solution would be to have some sort of filter to add to my child functions.php file that told your plugin to not display information for that user (or other similar user profiles). But I have no idea how to do that.

I see you have a similar plugin to Justin’s called BuddyPress User Profile Visibility Manager. My question about yours is, will it hide that information from the visitors widgets? Or will I still have the same problem.

If yours will, it will mean redoing my site and making new “How To” articles. Not to mention confusing existing members. But it is better to get it sorted now than later.

What are your thoughts? Can you suggest a filter for me, or should I ditch Justin’s plugin and buy yours?

I hope you see my dilemma. If someone hides their profile from the directory, I don’t want them showing up as Members, Recently Online or Currently Online users in the widgets that I have in the footer of my home page.

BuddyPress Auto Activate + BuddyPress Ajax Registration + Force Email login

Hi,

I’ve have the three plugins in the title all working, but it seems that the auto login does not work as it is trying to login with username, which we are preventing from happening with the Force Email Login plugin. Can some one please point me to some hooks where I might be able to filter the Auto Login plugin to substitute email for username? Not sure if it matters, but I’m also using a script in bp-cutom.php that auto joins users to a group if they join from a group page it can be found here: https://buddydev.com/snippets/788-make-user-autojoin-to-the-current-group-if-they-regis/

Ok I will check around.
I also deactivated my custom theme, bp-custom.php, and deactivated as many plugins to narrow down the choices.

**side note: the database that holds this is holding two websites, with different ‘wordpress prefixes’

You want to have an FPM or fcgi handler, everything else is rubbish. I think nginx says srv here, that’s fine also (as I think that’s pph-fpm). litespeed is another good choice.

Mediapress: Placeholder image instead of Gallery Cover shown

Hi Guys

Your Mediapress is just lovely!

But:

When I create a Photo Gallery, no Gallery cover image is shown. -> On URL “[user]/mediapress/” I get the placeholder image instead of the corresponding Cover Image

And:

URL “[user]/mediapress/” should be the overview page with all my created Galleries I guess. But I get all my uploaded single Media/Photos there, same as filter “Photo” or URL “[user]/mediapress/type/photo/”.

Clicking on one of these placeholder images bings me to the specific Gallery overview (Grid) on URL
[user]/mediapress/[gallery title]/attachment/[image name]/ (which would be correct if the presuming item would be the gallery item but not one of the containing Element of this Gallery.

What do I wrong? (Trying to figure it out for days now…)

I have created on gallery with 5 pics.
I have created a page to show the galleries at https://dating.christiangays.com/galleries/

The page says that there are no galleries available.
My settings are for “Logged in Members” only but I did try changing it to Public, without any change.

My BuddyPress page is set to Galleries.
Enable Gallery Directory is Yes
Enable Media Directory is Yes
Enable Galleries for Sitewide, User and Group are all Yes

What am I missing that is preventing the galleries to show up?

MediaPress on Multisite – Profile Galleries Not Integrated

I have a multisite at https://ChristianGays.com. My sites are all linked so my members just login to one of the sites and then they are logged in to all.

BuddyPress Profiles are available to be viewed from the Main Site, Chat, Dating and Blogs subdomains.

If I create a gallery on the main site, but check the profile on another site, the gallery is not there.

Just as all the Profile fields are interconnected, I would like the galleries to be interconnected too, so that they can be created on any of the subdomains, and people can see them on whatever part of the website they’re on.

I have tried Network Activating. I have tried activating sites individually. All works exactly as it should, with capabilities to create new galleries in all of the subdomains. It’s just that a gallery created in one subdomain does not show in any of the other subdomains.

How do I connect them please?
